About This Role

You’ll be an Applications engineer on our AppEng team. The AppEngs team drives technical and overall customer success by identifying customer needs, deploying components of the ArchFX technology stack, and ensuring that our stack is delivering data correctly and reliably.

ArchFX receives millions of streaming IOT data points per day from thousands of advanced machines in factories and merges it with a virtual “factory map” containing metadata about the physical location of each machine in the factory and the configuration of factory lines. Managing the complexity of this time-aware factory map data structure is one of the core components of ArchFX Cloud.

ArchFX Cloud also serves its core factory map data to all other aspects of the ArchFX system including streaming on-premise data ingestion and advanced data science models of factory operations.

We’re seeking an applications engineer to own our factory mapping systems, helping to drive successful customer engagements. You will be supported by world class domain experts who deeply understand electronics factories and will be centrally involved in making the ArchFX Platform a world-class factory management system that is powering Industry 4.0, the next industrial revolution in electronics manufacturing.

What You Will Own & Drive:

  • Drive the process to configure the ArchFX Platform Factory Map, our product that acts as a global metadata record of our customer’s machine layout and utilization
  • Streamline and improve the Factory Mapping process to be more efficient, scalable, and powerful.
  • Work directly with customers and in tandem with Technical Program and Account Managers at Arch to drive successful rollout and end-to-end solutions, including the Factory Map but also across the entire product stack as needed
  • Develop tools to validate and monitor customer installations, ensuring their uptime, accuracy, and overall quality.
  • Provide feedback and give guidance on features and ideas for internal and external tools to serve customer needs effectively.
  • Deep understanding of our problem domain (machine data analytics in the electronics industry) to be able to propose technical solutions to complex challenges that work at scale in an industrial context.
  • Working with TPM

What You Need to Bring to The Table:

  • Professional experience using and developing with Python to enhance or automate internal operational processes or customer-related systems.
  • Experience in understanding and communicating with REST APIs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Extreme attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Experience working with customers on understanding technical feedback, efficiently resolving issues, and generating end-user value.

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Experience with databases and structured query languages (SQL)
  • Experience working with networking systems and protocols like HTTP, MQTT, etc.
  • Experience working at a major electronics contract manufacturer (CM), with an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) utilizing SMT equipment to build a product, or at a machine maker creating and selling SMT equipment
  • Experience being customer facing as an engineer or even working in a program management or account management capacity in addition to your engineering role
  • Passion for manufacturing and for building more connected, intelligent, and sustainable industry.

How We Will Support You:

  • Ambitious and clear vision of how you can be a part of transforming the manufacturing supply chain and building next generation IoT technology
  • Highly motivated and experienced team with the relevant domain expertise and network
  • Ability to deploy your work solving cutting edge problems with Fortune 500 customers and nonprofit developing world partners alike
  • Learning & Development budget to allow you to continue to grow in not only your function, but in any way that relates!
  • Trust in your ability to do your best work when and where you want and to communicate this with your team
  • Flexible Time Off: take the time you need, including an end-of-year break and an ask that all Arch-itects take at least one additional (consecutive) week off each year to recharge in addition to local holidays and religious observances
  • Opportunity to challenge yourself, be nurtured, and grow in a highly dynamic environment
    • A culture that welcomes and encourages autonomy, ownership, and transparency; allowing you to make, learn from, and teach others in your “failures” as much as your successes
    • Potential to travel to annual Arch Summit, when it is safe to gather again in-person
    • A culture of diversity of thought and background with many languages and nationalities on the team
