ABOUT THE ROLE:

You’ll be an Applications engineer on our AppEng team. The AppEngs team drives technical and overall customer success by working with customers on ensuring that our stack is delivering data correctly and reliably.

ArchFX receives millions of streaming data points per day from thousands of advanced machines in factories and merges it with a virtual “factory map” containing metadata about the physical location of each machine in the factory and the configuration of factory lines. Managing the complexity of this time-aware factory map data structure is one of the core components of ArchFX Cloud.

ArchFX Cloud also serves its core factory map data to all other aspects of the ArchFX system including streaming on-premise data ingestion and advanced data science models of factory operations.

We’re seeking an applications engineer to support our factory mapping systems and work on maintaining data connectivity to factory machines. You will be supported by world class domain experts who deeply understand electronics factories and will be centrally involved in making the ArchFX Platform a world-class factory management system that is powering Industry 4.0, the next industrial revolution in electronics manufacturing.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN AND DRIVE:

  • Technical issue tracking and completion, driving operational excellence for your team and Arch customers
  • Deploy and debug machine connections to customers’ manufacturing equipment to power Arch’s data analytics insights.
  • Use, improve, and develop monitoring tools and machine setup scripts to provide support for customers on machine connectivity.
  • Build and present technical reports to internal and external stakeholders on issue management and platform performance
  • Work directly with customers and in tandem with Technical Project Managers, Account Managers, and other Applications Engineers at Arch to deploy successful rollout and end-to-end solutions, including the Factory Map but also across the entire product stack as needed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Basic understanding of computing and IT systems, cloud and web application software architecture, IoT, electronics, and data processing systems and an understanding of design for security, availability, and performance.
  • Familiarity with running scripts and navigating Windows/Linux environments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Extreme attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Experience working with customer-facing operations on understanding technical feedback and efficiently resolving issues.
  • Understanding of cultural sensitivity and ability to collaborate with teams in Asia, Europe, and the Americas

WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT:

  • Experience using Python to work with customer-related systems.
  • Experience with databases and structured query languages (SQL)
  • Experience working with networking systems and protocols like HTTP, MQTT, etc.
  • Prior domain knowledge with electronics and discrete manufacturing and/or factory equipment technical topics
  • Master user of issue tracking systems like Jira, Asana, etc. and/or proficient use of well-built excel tracker spreadsheets, pivot tables, macros, etc.
  • Experience being customer facing as an engineer.
  • Passion for manufacturing and for building more connected, intelligent, and sustainable industry.

HOW WE WILL SUPPORT YOU:

  • Ambitious and clear vision of how you can be a part of transforming the manufacturing supply chain and building next generation IoT technology
  • Highly motivated and experienced team with the relevant domain expertise and network
  • Ability to deploy your work solving cutting edge problems with Fortune 500 customers and nonprofit developing world partners alike
  • Learning & Development budget to allow you to continue to grow in not only your function, but in any way that relates!
  • Trust in your ability to do your best work when and where you want and to communicate this with your team
  • Flexible Time Off: take the time you need, including an end-of-year break and an ask that all Arch-itects take at least one additional (consecutive) week off each year to recharge in addition to local holidays and religious observances
  • Opportunity to challenge yourself, be nurtured, and grow in a highly dynamic environment
    • A culture that welcomes and encourages autonomy, ownership, and transparency; allowing you to make, learn from, and teach others in your “failures” as much as your successes
    • Potential to travel to annual Arch Summit, when it is safe to gather again in-person
    • A culture of diversity of thought and background with many languages and nationalities on the team
